Dear readers, I’m working on my final project for school, a fashion line of eight garments. The clothes have to be well-made and the patterns must be production-ready. It’s exciting and a lot of work and I’m not freaking out yet.

More than two years ago I started the pattern-making program, a shift from the editorial path I’d carved. I marked that milestone with a tattoo. Now I’m finishing school and celebrating with a trip to Paris.

Earlier today I received an email:
“Dear Molly, Your taxi is reserved. The taxi will have the keys and will drive you at the apartment. He will wait for you at the end of the customs with a sign of your name.”

I have always wanted to go to Paris and I’ve always wanted to walk off a long flight and see a sign with my name on it. It’s too exciting to think about right now; I have beautiful things to make.
